Surrey Mirror's Article about Reigate’s Level Crossing

An article appeared in the Surrey Mirror dated 6th October 2022and on the Surrey Live website. While we are grateful to have the subject publicly aired, there were a couple of inaccuracies in the reporting which we would like to correct.

The text Mr Healey says the problem could be alleviated were a pedestrian crossing installed to the north of the crossing is inaccurate and should have read Mr Healey says the problem could be alleviated were the pedestrian crossing installed to the north of the crossing controlled by traffic lights.

The subject was further diluted by the statement that GWR trains have no immediate plans to increase service frequency to Reigate. While this statement is true, the whole aim of out campaign is solve the long term issue and GWR trains have a published long term aim of 4 train per hour in each direction. By confusing the short term with the long term, the Surrey Mirror diluted the value of the article.

The item on the Surrey Live website was similar in content and inaccuracies.
