Help Defend London's green Belt

Title Document Type Document Date
From the London Green Belt Council
Today we are launching our Save London's Green Belt fundraising appeal - details below - and we need your help! Please do make a donation. If you donate £25 or more you will receive a FREE fold-out map of London's Green Belt*, a great stocking filler! (*while stocks last) We would also be hugely grateful if you could pass this message onto members of your group and other resident groups you may know about nearby Please help us defend London's Green Belt, now under threat from development like never before.
Our map shows over 250 sites in London's Green Belt threatened with development. If these go ahead, London's Green Belt will no longer exist as we know it. We've been campaigning hard over the past year to raise awareness and deliver change, publishing the threats map and 3 major reports, gaining media coverage, meeting MPs and supporting local campaigners. We've had major successes, gaining commitments from politicians and helping local groups win their campaigns.
But we now urgently need your help. We are contacted weekly by local groups concerned about threats and we're finding more and more sites through our own research. Government commitments are not translating into protection on the ground. And a weakened planning system means local groups find it harder to protest.
Please make a donation. We now urgently need to increase pressure to save London's Green Belt. We must gather more evidence and disseminate it widely; support local campaigns; organise letter-writing; generate media coverage and meet national and local politicians.
Please make a donation today. You can claim a FREE London Green Belt map if you donate £25 or more (while stocks last!). Once you have made your donation, please email londongbelt@aol.co.uk to claim your map.
Thank you so much for any support you might be able to give.
Yours sincerely
Catherine Maguire
